BeautyBay.com Order #1 Part I: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I recently placed an order on BeautyBay.com for two eye shadow palettes I had been coveting over for a while, these being the Urban Decay ‘Naked Basics Palette’ and the Stila  ‘In the Garden Palette’. Both seemed to be wildly popular, except due to the fact I  live in Australia overseas cosmetic brands are either extortionately priced or simply unavailable... but, me being me needed these products and hunted them down and ordered online.

I find BeautyBay.com to be wonderfully priced and they often have free-shipping promos (which I was lucky enough to be rewarded with for these purchases) making the shopping experience extra sweet!

The Urban Decay Naked Basics only set me back $30.11, which in my humble opinion is rather reasonable. The colour scheme emulates their other Naked palettes being neutral and extremely workable.

It features the shades:

•    “Venus” which is apparently a new and exclusive shade of off white, I would say it is semi matte as it does have a lovely shine within it. I tend to use this most to highlight my eyebrow arch and brow bone.

•    “Foxy” is a best-seller, a creamy ivory colour with a matte finish.

•    “Walk Of Shame” is also a pale cream colour but it also features lovely pink tones. This was previously exclusive to the Build Your Own Palette.

•    “Naked” is another new colour which I would describe as a musky pink with grey tones. I often use this on its own with some winged eyeliner and it just creates a smooth dainty base.

•   “Faint” is a light, more earthy toned brown matte, the description on the websites claims it has “red and charcoal undertones” but personally I can’t see this… It is also new and exclusive.

•   “Crave” is a super dooper deep, dark brown except it looks black in the pan, I can’t say I have used this very often lately but I am keen to try it as an eyeliner… once again it is new and exclusive to the Naked Basics Palette.

This is now my go to palette for those rushed days when I am running late for Uni or work but want to add a little "pick me up" to my eyes so people don’t think I am a cast member of The Walking Dead!

My main gripe, as with the other Urban Decay shadows there tends to be a large amount of fall out except I tend to get around this buy apply small amounts to the brush and layering.

Overall this palette is a necessity! I have even convinced my mother to order one and she has used the same boring Revlon and Dior brown palettes as long as I can remember … clearly this palette suits her needs very well showing its versatility to work for many different ages and purposes!

    1. Hi Natalie, a couple of years ago whilst I was overseas I picked up this brush set from Sephora (http://www.sephora.com/deluxe-antibacterial-brush-set-P197107) and I have found that the quality is actually very good in the eyehsadow brushes so they are my go too!
