BeautyBay.com Order #2 Part I: Eyeko Brow Gel & Skinny Brush Mascara

Not too long ago I completed 2 major Uni Assignments both worth 50%,  so naturally I figured I would treat myself and hopped straight on to Beauty Bay to find some hard earned goodies!

I have been wanting a new mascara for a while but nothing has been shouting BUY ME, so when I stumbled across Eyeko I was intrigued. Having never heard of this brand before I did some research and saw PixiWoo recommended the Skinny Brush Mascara, that confirmed I had to try it!

How to "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive"

Johnny Mercer sure knew what he was talking about when he came up with the famous lyrics

"You've got to Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In between"

Except this is often 'easier said than done', especially in the current society in which we live. We are constantly being told we are not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough- open any magazine and you will find that every segment is dedicated to helping you "be better"… Although the challenge to overcome this extends far beyond having positive self esteem, our world is intoxicated by the negative and this impacts on every aspect of our lives, causing us to dwell and wallow in all the little things that didn't go to plan...

Being a firm believer in the Law or Attraction and taking great interest in the power of positive thought I figured I would suggest some simple things you can do to help "eliminate the negative"….

"Winter is Coming!"… Brace your skin with the Revlon ColorStay™ Aqua Range.

It is true, something good does always come out of something bad… or in this case something good came out of blindly buying a product with the expectation of it being something else….

For a while now I have been considering trying out mineral make up, I have never dabbled in this realm before and I figured it was about time I did. I wanted to play around with something a bit more affordable first though just to get an idea of what "minerals" were like on my skin etc. before spending big bucks on high end products . Strolling the aisles of Priceline (as you do) I saw Revlon had a 2 for $45 sale and thought bargain! Without so much as reading the label I picked up the Revlon ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup and the Revlon ColorStay Aqua Finishing Powder.

Notice the word AQUA? Well, yeah, I didn't. So, ladies and gentleman you can imagine the shock I was in when I began to apply the mineral makeup only to be overcome by a distinct moistness…  (God I hate the word but it is most appropriate in this context)

So Who Knew Roses Had Hips? The Benefits of Rose Hip Oil

Between The Morning Show, Magazines and Pia Miranda, for the greater part of this year I have heard more than a few praises about Rose Hip Oil. Whenever I hear the words 'oil' and 'face' in the same sentence I tend to cringe so to put it kindly I was skeptical about this so called "miracle product".

Rose Hip Oil is, legitimately, a fruit oil extracted from the hips of roses! For those of you who are perplexed by the very idea of that, according to my research "the hip is the fruit that is left after a rose has bloomed and the petals have fallen", so pretty much the oil is filled with vitamins, antioxidants and other goodies your skin will just want to soak up!

There are a million different brands on the market but the version I purchased was one by A'kin, not for any particular reason it was just one I grabbed, thankfully it sure is working a treat on my skin!

The Causes Behind My Recent Eargasms.

A day can not go past with out me listening to music. As cliche as this may sound I think Berthold Auerbach (whoever that may be) got it right when he said "music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life"...

Thus, I thought I would do a quick post on what new music I have been listening to, some of which I have been waiting years for!

BeautyBay.Com Order #1 Part II: Stila 'In the Garden' Palette

As I mentioned in my prior post I purchased both The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette and the Stila “In the Garden” palette at the same time off BeautyBay.com,  not to sound like a materialistic loon but the “In the Garden” palette is everything I have been looking for and more!

I have for a couple of months now been searching for a palette that contains beautiful green-y, olive-y golds and complementary colours to no avail up until I saw this palette. In all honesty I first saw this walking past a counter in Myer except in Australia it is retailed for $62 and based on that one second glance I wasn’t impressed enough to stop and spend that much… but then I saw it online for the second time and then saw it was only $35.67 I clicked that “Add to Bag” so fast the poor thing probably didn’t know what hit it!

The name makes it incredibly obvious but the palette is “botanical inspired” and suggested to be perfect for Spring, I am currently going into winter and I think it is perfectly suited for now and all year round!

BeautyBay.com Order #1 Part I: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I recently placed an order on BeautyBay.com for two eye shadow palettes I had been coveting over for a while, these being the Urban Decay ‘Naked Basics Palette’ and the Stila  ‘In the Garden Palette’. Both seemed to be wildly popular, except due to the fact I  live in Australia overseas cosmetic brands are either extortionately priced or simply unavailable... but, me being me needed these products and hunted them down and ordered online.

I find BeautyBay.com to be wonderfully priced and they often have free-shipping promos (which I was lucky enough to be rewarded with for these purchases) making the shopping experience extra sweet!

The Urban Decay Naked Basics only set me back $30.11, which in my humble opinion is rather reasonable. The colour scheme emulates their other Naked palettes being neutral and extremely workable.

First Post: the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation

Unfortunately, “foundation” is not my middle name and my relationship with this fundamental makeup necessity has not been one filled with sunshine and daisies. I only really started wearing foundation 3 or 4 years ago despite being on stage since I was 3, lucky for me I was fortunate enough to never go through the ‘acne-ridden-horrible-breakout’ stage.

Obviously my interest in makeup and all things beauty related has flourished since then resulting in a large collection of disappointing foundations with only a few holy grails pulling through. This leads me my most recent purchase on the foundation front…

Ever since Emma Watson became an ambassador back in 2011 I have been meaning to try Lancôme products but up until about a week ago I never had. From the moment the lady at the counter placed a few dabs of the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation in shade #02 Lys Rose across my cheekbones I knew it was love!
